This birthday was referred to us by a meal service that provides invaluable support to financially disadvantaged people across Midland.
They told us about a young man who was turning 9.
The thought of him waking up...on his birthday....and there being nothing for him is sad beyond words.
Equally as sad, his Mum and her distress at not being able to give her boy anything on the most special of days in his life.
This is exactly why we do what we do - no child should miss out on their birthday.
